Welcome to the HYDRO9 web page, the official portal for the 2009 International Hydrographic Conference which is run by National Societies on behalf of the International Federation of Hydrographic Societies (IFHS).

It is indeed a great honour and privilege for our small Hydrographic Society down here at the tip of Africa to host such a prestigious and important annual event.

The HYDRO9 Organising Committee have been hard at work over many months to ensure that your visit to Cape Town will be well rewarded through top rated paper presentations on all things Hydrographic. The setting has been carefully chosen right on the coastline with the Auditorium, Exhibition Area and Small Craft Harbour all in close walking proximity.

Socialising under the African sun and stars will be a large part of HYDRO9, with a number of entertaining events, including a banquet evening on a wine farm as well a closing ceremony on Robben Island, our own African Alcatraz!
