Mapping the USS Missouri

HOUSTON BUSINESS JOURNAL - A few days after scanning and digitally mapping a small chapel at Immanuel Lutheran Church, a Houston company headed to Honolulu to do the same thing to something many, many times larger: the USS Missouri. The Houston firm collects millions of data points via multiple laser scans, then ties them together in a three-dimensional “point cloud,” which can be used to produce computer-aided design (CAD) drawings, 3D models and virtual tours.
