PAR Technology Selected by Esri to Provide Full Motion Video Support for ArcGIS 10.1

PAR Government Systems Corporation’s GV Video Framework (Gv2F™), was selected by Esri, a world leader in the geographic information system (GIS) software industry, to support the introduction of Full Motion Video (FMV) into their latest product release, ArcGIS 10.1. Gv2F is a Software Development Kit (SDK) that supports the management and visualization of video streams and is used by application developers to seamlessly integrate video with metadata within their geospatial software products. PAR Government Systems Corporation is a wholly-owned subsidiary of PAR Technology Corporation.

URISA Invites Comments on the Geospatial Management Competency Model

URISA invites experienced geospatial professionals of all kinds – particularly those with management experience – to review and comment on a draft Geospatial Management Competency Model (GMCM). Reviews by GIS professionals, professional surveyors, photogrammetrists and remote sensing scientists, programmers and application developers who specialize in geospatial applications, educators with specialized expertise in Geographic Information Science and Technology, and others whose work relies on geospatial technologies and data analysis are all welcome to participate.

Twelve Percent of Marine Species in Tropical Eastern Pacific Threatened

Twelve percent of marine species surveyed in the Gulf of California, the coasts of Panama and Costa Rica and the five offshore oceanic islands and archipelagos in the tropical eastern Pacific are threatened with extinction, according to a study by IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) and its partners. Main threats to the region’s marine flora and fauna include over-fishing, habitat loss and increasing impacts from the El Nino Southern Oscillation.

Icaros and MAVinci Team on Processing UAV Imagery

Icaros Inc. and MAVinci established an agreement that Icaros process as a service will be added to the portfolio of MAVinci's post processing solutions. Any MAVinci customer will be able to upload Images into Icaros’ server for Orthophoto and DTM extraction, directly from MAVinci desktop application, creating easy integration and seamless workflow between the two platforms.
