Drummond Group Inc. (DGI), the trusted interoperability test lab, announced today that their CEO and Chief Scientist, Rik Drummond, has been selected to serve on the new Smart Grid Interoperability Panel Governing Board (SGIPGB) which will provide technical support to the Commerce Department's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as it coordinates standards for a modernized electric power system. Rik was voted the inaugural representative of the Testing and Certification Vendors stakeholder category.
The Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP) is a newly chartered membership-based organization to assist NIST in the ongoing coordination, acceleration and harmonization of standards development for the Smart Grid. The SGIPGB will manage and guide the SGIP through prioritizing its work and then arranging for the necessary resources to effectively complete their efforts.
