1Spatial is in a consortium (with Robin Waters and Rob Walker from the UK) that has been awarded the JRC contract to ‘Develop Technical Guidance for the INSPIRE Transformation Services’; specifically for schema transformation of geospatial datasets.

This is very significant for us since we are already investing in ESDIN and also because we beat strong competition from across Europe (including other bidders from the UK). The contract requires a survey of - ‘state of the art’ spatial data transformation services; - the drafting of the associated technical guidance; - the prototyping of a schema transformation service. Other partners in our successful bid were Legally Mandated Organisations who will provide data, e.g. NLS Finland, NLS Sweden and Statens kartverk Norway. Outside of Scandinavia, Ordnance Survey Ireland and Land & Property Services Northern Ireland are also in our consortium as data providers.
