PR -- Digital mapping and geographic information systems (GIS) software developer Cadcorp has announced that after a thorough, competitive tender process, the EDINA National Data Centre has placed a contract for the supply of multiple licences of the Cadcorp SIS and Cadcorp GeognoSIS family of products and associated training and consultancy services. The new software will replace other systems currently in use at EDINA and will form the basis of a wider application providing map data services to the academic community. 

David Medyckyj-Scott of EDINA said, “The Cadcorp software will give us the opportunity to improve and expand the services we offer to users in terms of web mapping across the multiple data collections within the Digimap service. We have over 36,000 active users so the impact of these changes for the better will be felt by many.”
