GSA Clears the Way for Federal Agencies to Procure Green Technologies

The U.S. General Services Administration cleared the way for federal agencies to easily obtain green products and services to fulfill their goals under President Obama's sustainability executive order and under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. President Obama issued an executive order on sustainability in Oct. 2009 calling on the federal government to lead by example in greening and modernizing our nation's infrastructure. To help agencies meet these goals, GSA set energy service agreements with 18 companies to perform services, including energy audits, energy performance monitoring, and implementation of renewable energy solutions, that will promote sustainability across the federal government.
