AGI GeoCommunity ’09 Welcomes #Geomob

PR - This years AGI GeoCommunity conference will include a Geoweb stream coordinated by Christopher Osborne, the founder of #Geomob. Running throughout both days of the conference, the Geoweb stream will bring together established and new geographers for 2 days of workshops, presentations and activities in Stratford-Upon-Avon.    Christopher Osborne said “I look forward to bringing the best of #Geomob to the AGI GeoCommunity, and creating an event that appeals to and excites the traditional GI community and the neogeographer.  Web2.0 technologies have proven to deliver cost effective enterprise solutions within the GeoSpatial industry. We want this to be educational, inspirational, practical and fun.  There will be some inspiring speakers, workshops to give people an introduction to the technologies and some practical skills to take away from the event and some special participative events. ”

Steven Feldman, AGI GeoCommunity Chair said “It is very exciting that we will have a full Geoweb stream within what is already a diverse and captivating conference. It will  enable hundreds of policy makers and geo-professionals in public sector, utilities, retail and insurance to learn more about how these new and nimble approaches can transform the application of location within their organisations and enable new services. I believe that combining a mini Where 2.0 type stream with the UK’s largest mainstream GI conference is a significant step for the GeoCommunity and represents a great opportunity for all involved.”

Proposals for presentations and workshops should be submitted before the end of April to GeoCommunity at http://twurl.nl/l16n87
