PERSPECTIVES
If you were thinking of a career in the geo-industry, which area would you be considering and why?

Photo of Jeff Thurston"I would angle my career path toward the themes that I percieve are going to be prominent about 3-7 years from now - in a big way - and which involve geotechnology and spatial information. "

Photo of Matt Ball"It’s a great time to become involved in the geospatial industry, and I can think of many areas where I’d love to be starting a career. Practitioners and developers are finding it much easier to stand up tailored solutions with interfaces, performance and data that meet and exceed customer expectations. The amount of available geospatial data, coupled with much easier means to distribute and collaborate, is fueling an industry resurgence."

How Does Digital Technology Affect Communication of Geoinformation?

thumb_Lars_75px.jpgSome manufacturers tell us that format does not matter as much as symbology in relation to create efficient systems based on geoinformation. If it is so, is digital data symbology then any different from non-digital symbology? Other manufacturers tell us that it is the other way round, that format matters more than symbology. Whatever, does this question actually make sense at all? Is the question rather something like: How can non-print media be used to communicate as compared to print media (ie. maps in hardcopy)?
