Transparency for Operators of Large Industrial Sites with g.on aimPort
At CeBIT 2010, g.on experience is going to present the web-based geoportal g.on aimPort, a software for the documentation and administration of complex infrastructures.
Especially for operators of industrial plants, office and business sites or airports and harbors it significantly facilitates their internal workflows. Now they can easily keep track of their spatial data (buildings, parcels, etc.) and also of economic information related to individual objects, e.g. tenants, agreements, usage or condition.
User-friendly though highly sophisticated: g.on aimPort
The German IT firm g.on experience knows exactly the requirements of its clients. CEO Uwe Meyer: “We are well aware of the fact, that among the users within this target group, hardly anyone is experienced in special software like Geographical Information Systems (GIS). Therefore, it is extremely important that the system is user-friendly and easy to learn.”
That this parameter had been thoroughly considered is shown right when starting the program: The user interface with the look and feel of Google Maps will not even frighten off the most untrained user.
Further advantages of the geoportal are, among others, its modular architecture that facilitates extensions and adaptations as well as the use of standard software like Oracle Spatial. This way, the user is guaranteed investment security and also saves money by avoiding costs for special software.
