Autodesk’s AEC Technology Day Highlights User-Centric Advancements

by Matt Ball on April 6, 2010

Autodesk is holding a media event today at their AEC Division Headquarters in Waltham, Mass. The event kicked off last evening with a reception and tour of their LEED Platinum facility, which combines an impressive number of green design elements with an aggressive 8-month build that used integrated project delivery. The project was completed on-time and within budget with a no-litigation clause between architect, contractor and client using only Autodesk software.

This showcase case study shows a strong commitment to the principals of sustainable design, the need for a more streamlined and efficient building process, and to an integrated and collaborative approach using Autodesk tools. Autodesk shared that they learned a good deal about how their tools integrate in the building process, and that they’ve made a number of improvements based on this experience.

I’ll share a number of reports throughout the day as I learn particulars about these product advancements.
