Arrived in Berlin early this morning in preparation for InterGeo tomorrow. Got caught in a major airport snafu at JFK airport in New York, perhaps because of Ahmadinajad’s visit. My plane arrived early, but we sat on the runway for two hours before we got to our gate. I sprinted to my Berlin departure gate and they opened a locked door for me. I was feeling luck until we sat another two hours before taking off.
Through all these delays, it was somehow impossible for them to transfer my luggage. Does anyone else out there feel that despite being a seasoned traveler, we’re never seasoned enough these days?
Jeff lives in the heart of Berlin, across from the Berliner Dome, under the TV tower, near the National Art Gallery, in close proximity to the Reichtstag and a wealth of museums. I’m very impressed with the bustle and proximity of everything in this town center.
Tomorrow we take the ICE to Leipzig, a speedy one-hour trip to Europe’s largest GI trade fair. I’m excited for this first exposure to this market, and will Blog my impressions throughout the week.
