Clean Energy and Climate Bill Up for Vote Tomorrow

by Matt Ball on June 25, 2009

Reports indicate that the U.S. House of Representatives will vote tomorrow on an energy bill sponsored by Representatives Henry Waxman and Edward Markey. The Bill aims to promote a clean energy transition that reduces our dependence on foreign oil while combating global warming. A carbon cap-and-trade program is at the center of the bill, taxing emissions and providing funds for rainforest preservation.

RePower America just sent out an e-mail blast to stir supporters with the following reference,  “Members of Congress who oppose clean energy paraded around a map that distorts the truth about curbing carbon pollution. Not only was the analysis misleading, the computer file still listed the original author — the coal lobby.”

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a good image of the map in question. If anyone has a reference, I’d love to profile it here.
