I’m deep in snow in Vail, Colo. this weekend. This has been one of the most phenomenal ski seasons that I can recall, and this isn’t the only location that is seeing colder weather patterns with considerable storm activity. Skeptics of climate change are seizing on these patterns to declare that global warming is over.
The cooling climate this season is pinned largely to La Niña weather patterns in the Pacific. Climate scientists say that the long-term body of evidence for continual warming can’t be discounted by one season.
There’s a story in today’s New York Times that delves into the detailed arguments of both camps.
