Do Voluntary Environmental Programs Work?

Voluntary environmental programs (VEPs) such as the UN’s ISO 14001 and the EPA’s 33/50 Program may not be very effective. The blog Triple Pundit points out that there are problems in how these programs are administered. With an administration that is weak on environmental regulation, VEPs are becoming a primary means for climate governance in the U.S., and they can be fixed.
