Documented Landscape Changes in New Orleans

The New York Times has a really neat interactive feature that documents the change in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans since the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. There are stacked images and commentary for the transformation of certain addresses, but the really cool part is the video tour from spot to spot that is also documented on the map. Take a look here.

This is the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, and there are a lot of interesting commemorations around the web. I also really like this NOAA site dedicated to this event specifically as the “most destructive hurricane ever to strike the U.S.” there are some amazing satellite photos, and aftermath photos.
