Earth Hour

On March 28, 2009, at 8:30 p.m. local time, individuals, businesses, governments and organizations around the world are asked to turn off their lights for one hour–Earth Hour–to make a global statement of concern about climate change and to demonstrate commitment to finding solutions.

The World Wildlife Fund is the organization behind this event. They are urging individuals to join this event and would like you to also take action to push federal and state elected officials to participate.
