Focus the Nation on Global Warming Solutions

by Matt Ball on November 21, 2007

focusthenation.gifFocus the Nation is coordinating teams of faculty and students at more than a thousand colleges, universities and K-12 schools in the United States, to collaboratively engage in a nationwide, interdisciplinary discussion about “Global Warming Solutions for America.”

“In the next few years, we as a nation will make, or fail to make, critical decisions regarding global warming pollution and clean technology investments. These decisions will have far-reaching and irreversible impacts on the lives of today’s students and the lives of their children. At this moment in time, we owe our young people at least a day of focused discussion about global warming solutions for America.”

Focus the Nation will culminate January 31, 2008, in the form of national symposia held simultaneously at over one thousand venues across the country.

Cheers from Focus the Nation headquarters!

Thought I’d mention that we’re also producing a webcast with the National Wildlife Federation that will go live on Earth Day Network TV on the evening of January 30th at 8pm. The program features a panel discussion including IPCC scientist Stephen Schneider, sustainable business pioneer Hunter Lovins, and green jobs guru Van Jones.
