The South West Natural Resource Management of Australia is working on an “eco-informatics” system called the Futurescapes Climate Change Demonstrator that will combine scientific data and visual representation for climate change predictions. The 3D visualization of impacts helps citizens to realize future changes.
A demonstration of this technology was recently given to farmers to help them realize the future of their farms. The Futurescapes tool is under development now through a joint initiative between the Victorian government, and Monash, Melbourne and La Trobe universities.
Read more about the farm demonstration in this feature in The Standard.
The ecoinformatics initiative is also outlined on the project’s website.
