Google Marks Favorite Places

Google has sent out more than 100,000 stickers to businesses that have been deemed favorite places by online reviewers. People walking by can scan a bar code on the sticker to be taken immediately to the web-based review in order to help them decide if they want to enter. Similarly, these favorite places are marked prominently in Google Mobile Maps with a separate place page. The move seeks to solidify Google’s sway in driving traffic — both virtual and real.
