Taiwan is hosting the third annual International Earth Science Olympiad, with students from 15 countries competing on their knowledge of atmospheric conditions, oceans, natural geography, the environment, and climate changes. This year for the first time the teams will conduct field studies of an earthquake zone to demonstrate teamwork and field survey skills in addition to the traditional classroom work of the contest.
