I have had reason to look at geomatics industry and sector specific market values at different points over the past 25 years and have seen how it has become increasingly difficult to define the overall value of this industry.  While I am sure that there are good reasons to gain a sense of the &#039;big picture&#039; value, more and more my own focus has been on market segment valuations were there is at least some hope of getting close.

One aspect of the GITA Technology Report I have found particularly useful is the survey feedback they gather that gauges changing user priorities.  In a dynamic market such as this one, identifying changing behaviour is as important as knowing the size of the envelope - at least if the goal is to understand where business opportunities exist.</description>
