The New York Times has a fascinating story today about Japan’s infrastructure investment to recover from the bursting real estate bubble of the late 80s. Economists say that massive and quick infrastructure spending can help revive the economy, but it matters what gets built. Japan has spent $6.3 trillion on construction-related public investment between 1991 and September of last year.
