Joe Berry is teaching a course at DU this semester and the weekly discussions are open to the public.
This evening’s topic is, “Modeling the Expansion of the Wildland-Urban Interface,” by Dave Theobald, Associate Professor, Department of Human Dimensions of Natural Resources and Natural Resource Ecology Lab, Warner College of Natural Resources ,Colorado State University. The presentation is from 4 – 5 p.m. (followed by informal discussions), Room 125 Boettcher West, 2050 E. Iliff Avenue, Denver, Colorado. This topic has considerable impact on land use planning and wildfire readiness.
I’m excited to be participating in this series on February 28. I’ll be doing a short presentation on “The Role of GIS for Sustainability,” and will be part of a panel discussion along with William Gail of Microsoft and Peter Batty.
Check out his syllabus for more details.
