Colorado-based consultants GeoLab have just launched a free 50 meter resolution wind resource atlas that adds powerline location and land ownership to wind resource data from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. The sixteen tile atlas improves on the scale of previously available state-wide mapping efforts for a good macro-level snapshot of wind farm opportunities in the state.
The Colorado Wind Atlas can be downloaded in GeoPDF format from this site. GeoLab is also at work on a Wind Atlas Application that is scheduled to be available in April 2009.
