President’s Budget Likely to be Ignored

by Matt Ball on February 6, 2008

An article in U.S. News and World Report states that the proposed budget from President Bush is likely to be ignored. They relate that with last year’s budget the newly empowered Democrats raised scientific research from climate change by 26 percent. They also gave the Environmental Protection Agency $260 Million more than the president allocated.

On the surface, I felt that there were some nice programs and increased funding for geospatially-related projects. Perhaps there’s cause to be even more optimistic.

Yaaa…it’s great to be optimistic in helping to bankrupt the country.

The numbers in those programs should trend the other way until we get our house in order.

More belt tighten, less lose belts to make room for more fat.
