This past weekend the University of Pennsylvania hosted a high-profile conference titled, “Re-Imagining Cities: Urban Design After the Age of Oil.” The event aimed to elevate the discussion of “the way cities are conceived, adapted, designed, developed, and managed in a post-carbon world.” The event culminated in a breakout session to create a manifesto for educating the next generation of urban designers.
There’s extensive Blog coverage of the event from TreeHugger, Grist, Planetizen and Metropolis. Blog posts from the event are aggregated on NEXT American City.
