Restoration Science Suffers from Lack of Large-Scale Experiments

A study published in Restoration Ecology suggests that the science and practice of environmental restoration suffer from a lack of large-scale projects and experiments. The authors suggest that restoration practitioners should apply more than one method for remediation in large projects in order to learn while restoring.

The process of adaptive restoration, where different methods are observed carefully to see which achieves the stated goal most quickly, could improve the effectiveness of all practitioners.
