Dean Kamen and his DEKA design group provided the genius behind the Segway transporter and many innovative medical devices. I’ve seen Kamen speak on occasion, and am always impressed by his focus on unconventional thinking and the joys of innovation.
My wife works at the VA Medical Center in Denver as a dietitian, and she’s always being asked about returning wounded from the War in Iraq. As I’m sure you’re aware, there are a great many amputees from this war, and it’s great to think about the possibilities that these new technologies present to these young men and women that have served their country.
