PR - The ESRI electric and gas
community will come together to discuss the industry's hottest topics and
latest technology at the ESRI Electric and Gas User Group (EGUG) Conference
October 19–23, 2008, in Indian Wells, California. This year's theme,
Riding the Winds of Change, embraces the industry's most current developments
and proven best practices in managing assets and data. Attendees will explore
how geographic information system (GIS) technology benefits utilities in
crucial areas such as spatial data management, server-based GIS, and mobile
solutions.
This year's conference will convene at the
Hyatt Grand Champions Resort in Indian Wells, near Palm Springs. GIS users from
around the world will gather to share experiences and discuss how they use
geographic knowledge to enhance utility operations. Presentations will address
the latest technological innovations, mobile solutions, integrated approaches
to enterprise asset management, and other electric and gas operations.
"The EGUG conference is an ideal setting
for utilities to network to get a feeling of how others are addressing
industry-specific issues," EGUG president Ted Kircher said. "As with
most ESRI events, there are many opportunities to network and discuss specific
concerns with others including ESRI experts. Attendees have the opportunity to
see what is new and improved in the electric
and gas industry in a small meeting setting."
