PR - In the last decade, lots of new technologies have been developed which
may contribute to the development of embedded intelligence in products
and environments. The domain of work is a rather new application for
these technologies. In order to let these technologies succeed in this
domain, it is important that embedded intelligence improves the human
performance at work.
This can be realised if the technology helps to prevent from health problems, provides comfort and pleasure and increases the productivity of employees. In that way, embedded intelligence can have added value to traditional office work. However, knowledge is lacking about the effect of embedded intelligence at the office on the employees (well-being and health), on the work process (performance and quality) and on the organisation (communication and innovation).
The aim of the workshop is to develop a general vision on the possibilities, limitations and practical applications of embedded intelligence at work.
