PR -- Applanix introduced today a dual camera version of its Digital Sensor
System (DSS™) 439 RapidOrtho™ medium format airborne mapping system
that produces 4-band ortho-imagery in a single pass. With all the
features and benefits of the established DSS 439 RapidOrtho Solution,
the DSS 439 RapidOrtho DualCam adds a second DSS camera with a
monochromatic (Charge-Coupled Device) CCD array specifically configured
to capture Near Infra Red (NIR) imagery.
The announcement was made at the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS) 2008 Conference in Beijing.
"The DSS 439 RapidOrtho DualCam showcases a directly georeferenced
rapid orthorectification process that enables users to design a
workflow to match specific data delivery needs," said Joe Hutton,
Director of Airborne Products at Applanix. "The system produces
separate Color and NIR orthophoto products, which are then combined
into a single 4-band orthophoto product. As pioneers and leaders in
this marketplace, we are committed to delivering innovative solutions
such as the DualCam to meet the current and future needs of the
airborne community."
The DSS 439 RapidOrtho DualCam system is available as a stand-alone
solution, or it can be integrated with LIDAR. Applications for the
system include: shoreline mapping, forestry management, biomass
mapping, and other airborne mapping applications.
Data delivery options include: RapidOrtho, Precision RapidOrtho, and High Precision RapidOrtho formats.
Applanix offers DSS clients world-wide customer support and a yearly
maintenance and warranty program. The DSS 439 RapidOrtho DualCam system
is available immediately through the Applanix sales network.
