PR - The
Olympic TV Transmission Tower that will broadcast the signal of the
Olympic Games to the world was designed by local Chinese architects
in just three months to meet the final Olympic preparation rush.
Price List - August, 2005
Located
near China’s National Stadium, better known as the “Bird’s
Nest,” the transmission tower (4299 m2) stretches 132 meters high
and is the tallest building in Beijing Olympic Park, making it one of
three main landmark buildings in the Park.
After
fierce competition for the project in 2007, the design work was won
by Cui Kai, Fu Xiaoming, Kang Kai, Zhang Junying,
architects of the Cui Kai Studio at the China Design Institute.
The
project started in May of 2007 and was completed in July of the same
year – a record three months time. The construction on the project
was completed in July 2008 just before the start of the Olympic
Games.
According
to the architects, ArchiCAD’s integrated model based workflow was
vital to the completion of the entire design and documentation work
of the 4299 m2 (46,000 sq ft) building in such a short period of
time.
