Germany: 3D Road Geometry Available

Does your auto think? Does it know where the road is going? Intermap announced the release of their new 3D Road Geometry for Germany yesterday. This is neat stuff.  It marks the first step toward advancing intelligent road system networks because it integrates into vehicles. It is also a link to construction systems for road networks.

reichstagFrom the release - “Derived from the Company’s recently completed database of uniformly accurate digital elevation models (DEMs) for all of Western Europe, these geometries can be used by the automotive industry to support advanced driver assistance systems’ (ADAS) safety and energy management applications that rely on accurate road vector geometry.”

This product has much higher accuracy (and usefulness) than other products due to the fact that it is based on the company’s DEM products, which have been rigorously processed for accuracy.

Look for new applications to emerge from this product.
